Description of the field of study: 

The programme of study present theoretical and technological solutions which do not contribute to the increase in the pollution of the environment and which demand less natural resources to manufacture goods and provide services. The programme prepares students to solve practical tasks which they may encounter in their professional activity. In the course of the studies, students learn skills which encompass manufacturing processes, processing and testing of chemical compounds and materials. Knowledge of chemistry, chemical technology, mathematics and physics is developed. Students learn how to produce and use safely chemical products, how to handle used goods and waste, and also hot to encourage sustainable development.  They also acquire knowledge how to actively participate in team projects, manage teams that perform commissioned projects and use professional literature and legal provisions in economic activity. They are introduced to the basic technological processes, especially those which are environmentally friendly. Students also acquire the skills to interpret and describe quantitatively fundamental physicochemical phenomena, to conduct laboratory projects and organize safe and efficient workstations for the performance of these tasks.

Graduate profile: 

Graduates are prepared to work in industry, at research laboratories, in administration and at any other institutions where there is a demand for specialists in chemistry or chemical technology. Knowledge of inorganic technology (adsorption and catalytic materials), organic (drugs, plant protection products, dyes, household chemicals, polymer processing), gum, tanning and biomaterials technology allows graduates to take on positions in industry, analytical laboratories, at local branches of international companies, small private businesses. They are also prepared to run their own business.
