The program is run by two Faculties: the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, with the former being the official program leader.
Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary degree program which allows students to learn advance knowledge in the fields such as electrical engineering, mechanics, automation, electronic engineering, and computer science, including the latest developments. The curriculum of the second-cycle degree program is designed to prepare students for research careers by providing them with knowledge required for taking leadership roles in industrial research and development departments.
Students have the opportunity to choose elective modules from a range of subjects that develop the areas of knowledge that interest them most. The proposed elective modules include: artificial intelligence systems in mechatronics, microprocessor systems, and innovation in mechatronics. An important element of education is competence in technical foreign language. Students develop their command of the foreign language taking part in selected classes taught in English.
Graduates gain in-depth knowledge of core subjects and specialist knowledge enabling them to undertake innovative and pro-ecological activities in mechatronics and related areas. The curriculum ensures that they are qualified to perform professional tasks of varying nature - in particular, design projects, and scientific and experimental work in the fields that make up mechatronics.
Graduates are qualified to work as specialists in the field of operation and maintenance of technologically advanced mechatronic systems. They can be employed wherever advanced, modern tools and information technology are used. In particular, they can work in many different national and international companies, as well as run their own business.
