First-cycle degree programme in this field of study allows students to learn about topics related to computational physics, numerical methods, optics, physics of surfaces and thin films, physics of semiconductors, physics of crystalline solids and liquid crystals and laser technologies. The programme enables students to acquire knowledge in the area of biophysics, basics of anatomy, histology, medical therapy, and physical methods in diagnostics. Students learn optoelectronics, photonics, fiber optic technology, analysis of biological signals, and digital signal processing. Student learns how to apply information technology in biology and medicine. They are also trained in the theory and practice of programming and learn methods of computer simulations and modelling of physical phenomena, experimental data and technological processes analysis. The programme also allows students to master the basics of computer graphics, ergonomics and copyright.
