The following course units are among the core course units of the electrical engineering programme of study; mathematical analysis, circuit theory and field theory, materials physics and engineering, technical drawing, ergonomics, human resources management, European energy legislation, electronics, mechatronics, finite element method, computer science and databases. Students learn about the ways of energy transmission, distribution and transformation and conversion from its generation to the electrical socket at homes. They learn about installation of such devices as transformers, power adapters or microwave ovens. They learn the methods of electrical energy transformation and conversion into mechanical, chemical energy or heat used by industry or at homes. Education goals are achieved as a result of teaching delivered in the form of lectures, tutorials, advanced modern laboratories, projects and diploma thesis design. During the programme, students complete a six-week industrial placement. The topics for diploma theses are selected to match the needs of industry, and may be submitted in competitions for the best first-cycle diploma thesis organized by the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP).
Graduates are readily employed by industrial and business enterprises, by universities or they may choose to be self-employed. They may consider employment in design firms, manufacturing plants and electrical engineering installation companies.
