Description of the field of study: 

The principal objective of education in the field of study electronics and telecommunications is to provide graduates with basic knowledge in the area of electronics, telecommunications and teleinformatics with a particular emphasis on the current condition and development trends in these areas Priority is given to training in analysis and design of analog and digital electronic circuits, microprocessor techniques (including programming) and optoelectronics, technology and design of electronic equipment, implementation of modern telecommunication or teleinformatic networks. Students also learn  learner’s autonomy in finding, verifying and selecting information from various sources, including digital resources. There is a strong focus on familiarizing students with the specific nature of engineering work, including preparation for teamwork, e.g. through engaging them in group projects. Part of the education is delivered in English, which facilitates taking advantage of ample literature in this language and working in an international work environment. Another important component of the programme of study is a wide range of elective course units which allow to adjust education paths to individual student preferences. More than half of the course units are practical classes (laboratories, projects, tutorials) that enable students to take advantage of the modern technical infrastructure of the Faculty.

The acquired knowledge and skills can be directly applied in engineering activity typical for the current job market, which enhances graduate employability in many different areas. Graduates with a degree in electronics and telecommunications are sufficiently qualified to perform engineering work at companies that focus on electronics, telecommunications, teleinformatics and also computer science. They can be employed in positions related to production preparation and performance.
