About the field of study
A student of Food Technology and Human Nutrition in the second cycle acquires in-depth knowledge of: chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, the impact of food production conditions on its characteristics, industrial food production based on animal and plant raw materials. They are familiar with toxic substances present in food and their effects on the human body.
Students have a structured knowledge of biotechnological methods of food production, as well as of development trends and the most significant new developments in food production and analysis. They have a basic knowledge of quality management systems, including their documentation based on the requirement of ISO 9001. They acquire in-depth knowledge of human nutrition and dietetics, food law and public communication issues. They are familiar with food preservation techniques and oriented to the social conditions of food production.

About you
Substances that are added to our food are constantly causing controversy. However, not all of them are harmful. Some additional substances are intended to protect the product against the formation of harmful substances. An example is the addition of nitrites, which prevent the growth of Clostridium botulinum bacteria (botulinum).
You will gain more interesting information by choosing the field of Food Technology and Human Nutrition. It is an opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of basic, technical, biological and economic sciences. You will learn the principles of technological and biotechnological processes in food production, including the use of genetically modified raw materials, and you will also learn safe human nutrition and methods of food preservation and storage. Knowledge of modern methods of analysis and quality assessment of raw materials and food products, as well as the ability to implement and supervise food production, will allow you to design new technologies, as well as modernize existing technologies in various food industries, taking into account the economic aspects of the processes. Additionally, you will be able to use computer techniques to control technological processes and quality management.
