Description of the field of study: 

Students develop the skills to use general knowledge encompassing manufacturing processes, processing and testing of chemical compounds and materials. Field-specific knowledge is complemented with good understanding of chemistry, chemical technology, mathematics and physics as well as English chemical and technological terminology. Students learn the methods of production and safe usage of chemical products. They learn how to handle used goods and waste, encourage sustainable development, work on team projects, manage human resources and use professional literature and comply with the legal requirements in regard to economic activity. Students are introduced to technological processes (especially those that are environment friendly) and learn the skills to interpret and describe quantitatively fundamental chemical and physicochemical phenomena, conduct laboratory projects and organize safe and efficient workstations for the performance of these tasks.

Graduates are prepared to work in industry, at research laboratories, in administration and at any other institutions where there is a demand for specialists in chemistry or chemical technology. They have advanced knowledge of modern chemistry and chemical technology as regards the chosen specialization. They are prepared to conduct research in the chosen specialization, perform complex analysis of chemical and technological processes and to implement processes and products in practical activity in collaboration with specialists in other fields. They are able to apply modern methods of data analysis to solve problems  and they can operate modern chemical apparatus. They are familiar with environmental protection, sustainable development; they know legal, ethical and economic principles which they adhere to when working on technological processes. They are prepared to take up positions in industry, research institutes, administration and management sectors. They are trained to appreciate the need for continual learning and professional development and prepared to pursue a third-cycle degree.
