Description of the field of study: 

Science and Technology is taught in English. When studying Science and Technology, one can acquire thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of classical and modern physics, modern chemistry, ray and physical optics, as well as mathematics, fundamentals of computer science and programming. Students delve into selected branches of physics such as optoelectronics, nonlinear optics, electrodynamics, quantum electronics, laser and fiber optic technologies. They also learn the basics of electronic engineering and digital technology. They also master complex mathematical methods with a particular emphasis on mathematical physics and numerical methods.

Each student pursuing a degree in Science and Technology completes at least one semester abroad as part of their programme of study (it is usually the 6th semester and it is called the Mobility Semester). Currently, the International Faculty of Engineering (IFE) has over 100 agreements with universities all around Europe. Students pursuing a degree in Science and Technology most often choose:

  • University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria - Austria,
  • Windesheim University of Applied Sciences - the Netherlands,
  • University of Deusto - Spain.

Graduates with a degree in Science and Technology are prepared to pursue a career in advanced technologies in international teams working on European- and global scale projects. The interdisciplinary Science and Technology degree programme enables graduates to solve untypical  problems, both practical and theoretical. The graduates are some of the most sought after job candidates in the national and international job markets, especially in the hi-tech industries. Significant ease of learning and extending the already acquired knowledge enables them to adapt quickly to a new work environment both in industry as well as in respected research institutions. The panoptic character of the Science and Technology degree programme ensures that the graduates are well prepared for continuing their studies in international universities in many specializations. The graduates go on to study Science and Technology of Nuclear Fusion, Aerospace Engineering, Nanotechnology, Advanced Matter and Energy Physics, Optoelectronics and Medical Physics. Having English as a language of instruction, they are able to use sources that are not available in Polish and to go abroad to complete their placements during the degree programme.

The demand of the national and international  job market for graduates with a degree in Science and Technology is strong.
