Student are provided with conditions conducive to intellectual development, acquisition of knowledge and skills which enable them to find attractive job opportunities or to continue their education in a third-cycle degree programme (doctoral studies) in mathematics or related field. Education is provided in four specializations which expand, advance and continue specializations offered for first-cycle students respectively.
Risk management in finance and insurance provides students with knowledge in the area of financial mathematics, financial risk management and functioning of the financial market, insurance mathematics and functioning of the insurance market.
Data analysis in business and logistics enables students to acquire knowledge and learn skills in the area of using methods and algorithms of data mining and in the area of in-database information retrieval.
Mathematical modeling and optimization is a specialization which provides solid knowledge and skills related to building and analysis of natural, technological and social processes models, by reason of which they are prepared to work at research, industrial and scientific organizations which are engaged in modelling various processes: technological, physical, chemical, biological, social and economic.
Mathematics with applications is a specialization wishing to advance their theoretical knowledge of mathematics and interested in other applications of mathematics, e.g. to graph theory, approximation theory and optimization.
Graduates are equipped with knowledge and skills that make it possible to find attractive job opportunities in positions such as, i.e. stock market analyst, credit analysts, market trend analyst, specialist in general insurance (property and casualty), retirement advisor, database analyst.
