About the field of study

Wind, geothermal, and solar energy—as well as nuclear power plants—represent the future of the energy sector, which is developing before our eyes. The goal of the program is to educate top-quality professionals in strategic fields that will shape the future of the global economy. Students will learn about the design, operation, and safety of nuclear power units. They will gain specialized knowledge in the area of energy generation from renewable sources and learn how to improve the efficiency of energy processes. This field of study fills a gap in education related to modern energy systems and aims to train highly qualified specialists who will support the development of the energy sector. It aligns with the current trend of energy transition, which involves implementing energy technologies that minimize the economy’s environmental impact by gradually reducing the share of fossil fuels in the energy mix. The program draws on the best elements of disciplines such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, automation, and chemical sciences.

Competencies you will gain

energy transition
nuclear energy
renewable energy
energy efficiency
radiological safety and protection

About you

Do you have a constant drive to acquire new knowledge? Do you want to co-create the energy transition and become a specialist in nuclear energy? Or are you interested in how energy from renewable sources is generated and distributed? By choosing the Nuclear Energy and Renewable Energy Sources program, you will not only find answers to these questions but also gain valuable practical skills.

During your studies, you will delve into knowledge in the field of energy engineering as well as related disciplines such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry. You will learn about the development of Poland’s nuclear energy sector in line with the government’s “Polish Atom” development strategy. Thanks to advanced knowledge of certification requirements and safety regulations for nuclear energy facilities, no secrets of the field will remain hidden from you. You will be ready to enter the job market with confidence—not only thanks to your technical expertise in energy, but also your understanding of quality management, economic issues, and legal-formal aspects related to conventional, renewable, and nuclear energy.

Internship

Job perspectives

  • Designing, implementation, and operation of machinery, devices, and energy systems, with a particular focus on renewable energy (photovoltaics, wind farms, energy storage) and modern heat management—mainly in the field of heat pumps, but also geothermal energy and low-temperature heat sources;
  • Employment in companies involved in the investment process of large nuclear blocks and small modular reactors (SMRs);
  • Jobs in conventional power generation, heat management, and the petrochemical industry.
